The oath reads:
Being admitted to the profession of veterinary medicine, I solemnly swear to use my scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit of society through the protection of animal health and welfare, the prevention and relief of animal suffering, the conservation of animal resources, the promotion of public health, and the advancement of medical knowledge. I will practice my profession conscientiously, with dignity, and in keeping with the principles of veterinary medical ethics. I accept as a lifelong obligation the continual improvement of my professional knowledge and competence.
Truebridge was founded by veterinarians of swine medicine, who grew up on small midwest family farms. This gives them a special perspective on pigs and the farmers who raise them. They care about them. It's a part of who they are.
After working for decades in the ivory towers of academia and on the ground floor of commodity pork production, they've seen every corner of the swine industry. Their experiences showed them that there are many more possibilities for American pigs and farmers than people realize. So, they evolved a master plan for raising pigs ethically and sustainably. They call it raising pigs right.
Farmers deserve good working conditions, work they are proud to do, and fair compensation for their skill and hard labor. Pigs deserve to be treated like intelligent and sensitive animals, not cogs in a machine, and to be given a happy life. And the eaters of the world deserve pork that is wholesome, flavorful, and easy to cook with, just like 'in the good old days.'
The people at Truebridge love good pork and the science behind it. But they also care about producing it in the right way, no excuses.
